Old News from Raffle for Rent Page

March 31, 2007 - In January I finally got a letter from the Delaware Housing Authority, and had an interview at the end of February. I am now awaiting a letter and rent vouchers to help out with 70% of the rent! So my turn finally came and I'll be able to get out of this awful situation with your help re-creating my painting career in order to pay the rest of the rent and the bills and buy food and take care of my service dog who is my independence, as you all know. Isn't that wonderful news, after a year and a half of this being homeless? Only 2 or 3 months more until I have my own home again, g-d willing. Let's all smile!

September 2 ,2006 - The 1st anniversary of being homeless. Let's get serious about getting enough to rent a place!

August 5,2006 - I'm still at the same person's house, still trying to find a way to make enough to pay for medicines, food AND rent. at the moment i need to get out of here, i'm desperate to get into my own place and away from this person... only about 7 - 9 months to go waiting for my turn at Section 8 down here in Delaware.

Sept 1, 2005 - I couldn't raise enough money to avoid eviction, so I did end up losing my home. Someone I know in Delaware took me in, so on September 1 I left New Jersey and lots of things, as there was no room to load them into a truck and no space down here to store them. Now I am trying to raise enough money for rent and a security deposit for a pace of my own. I am already on the Section 8 (state financial aid for housing) waiting list which is a 16 - 18 month wait and the person putting me up is willing to give me about 6 months or so to get the money together and find a place.

I really want to thank all who bought raffle tickets and tried to help me out. In the next couple of weeks I will be adding more paintings for the raffles.
